I try to keep this blog professional...otherwise it would be all clogged up with daily pictures of my kid. :) This picture just had to be an exception though. I have been trying to attract hummingbirds for a few weeks now, and although I kept seeing *something* out of the corner of my eye, it wasn't until today that I got proof positive that they are here! They are such amazing little creatures. I was focused and ready to go...with my shutter speed set at 1/1250th of a second (yes, thats 1/1250th!!) ...and his wings are STILL a little teeny bit blurred! And I thought brides were quick! I sure wish I had his energy.

Beth: National Geographic couldn't have done it better. That tiny hummer is doing everything but smile for you. Those rich tapestry colors are are so gorgeous . Time well spent.
