Megan & Monty...

(Click on the image to enlarge)
Normally it takes me a few days of editing before I am ready to post a few wedding pictures on my blog, but this morning as I was doing a preliminary review of Megan & Monty's wedding, there was one picture that really screamed for immediate attention. This lovely lady is their daughter and served as just about the cutest flower girl I have ever seen (and I have seen some seriously CUTE flower girls). Although I took tons of pictures of her throughout the entire day, this one really sums up her true personality...she is a spitfire, a show stopper, the life of the party. When it was her turn to walk down the aisle, she burst thru the doors and yelled "TA-DA!!!!!!!". She was pretty sure that the whole day was about her.

Oh yeah, and Megan & Monty had a lovely wedding too.

Seriously, it really was a lovely wedding. Megan & Monty were both gorgeous, and I very much enjoyed spending the day with them and their super nice families. I will post a shot of them in a few days.

Have a safe honeymoon guys!

Karrie & Jerry had a perfectly beachy day....

***CLICK ON PIC TO ENLARGE***
I love a nice beach wedding! The sky was blue, the air was hot and the breeze was appreciated by everyone, but I think especially by me considering all of the amazing shots I was able to get of Karries cathedral length veil. All of their hard work really paid off...The good people at both the Indian River Life Saving Station and Blue Moon catering were all just amazing, the attention to detail was magnificent all the way around. Karrie & Jerry were lucky enough to have Charm City Cakes (from the Food Networks hit "Ace Of Cakes") do their sandcastle cake and they were thrilled with it!

I was thrilled to be a part of this wedding...Karrie, Jerry & their families were so kind and gracious & I have no doubt that they will live happily ever after. Have fun island hopping guys!

Well hello there little friend!

(Click on the picture to enlarge)

I try to keep this blog professional...otherwise it would be all clogged up with daily pictures of my kid. :) This picture just had to be an exception though. I have been trying to attract hummingbirds for a few weeks now, and although I kept seeing *something* out of the corner of my eye, it wasn't until today that I got proof positive that they are here! They are such amazing little creatures. I was focused and ready to go...with my shutter speed set at 1/1250th of a second (yes, thats 1/1250th!!) ...and his wings are STILL a little teeny bit blurred! And I thought brides were quick! I sure wish I had his energy.
~~~~Hope this picture makes you smile. Happy summer everyone!!~~~~
Heather & Justin finally got married!!!!
(Click on picture to enlarge)
So...remember the gorgeous beach engagement pictures of Heather & Justin? Well...this past Saturday they finally got married! Heather planned this wedding for a long time and took such care in making all the details perfect...in fact I think its been a year or so since she booked me! After a few hot, hot, HOT Saturdays, this one turned out just about perfect. The open air reception at Pizzadili Vineyard was gorgeous...and the whole thing was a success - a great time was had by all. Congratulations guys - enjoy your honeymoon!! See you very soon!
The Lea Family...
I love catching up with my past customers! The last time I had seen Chris & Christina was on their wedding day. Their lives have changed alot since then, and now they were in need of some family pictures. After a few cancellations due to bad weather, last night I had the pleasure of spending time with them and their gorgeous babies on what is probably going to be remembered as one of the nicest summer evenings of 2008.
I hope you guys enjoy your pictures - keep in touch!!
Jen & Eric
Wow...I have had such an awesome wedding season so far! All of my brides have been stunning, all of my couples exceptionally nice, easy going & so obviously in love...and yesterday Jen & Eric were certainly no exception. It was another hot day, & another great couple who didn't let a little thing like extreme heat & the threat of storms with possible hail get in their way of having a great time. As the ceremony started the sky began darkening...the videographer (Julie from Blue Sky Films - great girl who agreed to send me a copy of the video) & I both started feeling a little nervous. I wanted so much for Jen & Eric to have the outdoor wedding they have been deaming of... and they, along with the great people at The Oaks worked so hard to make such a gorgeous cermony site, it would have been unfortunate if it had to be moved indoors. We were very lucky, and the rain held off long enough not only for the ceremony to go off without a hitch, but also for us to take advantage of the amazing photo opportunities that The Oaks has to offer.
Congratulations Jen & Eric, your proofs will be ready soon!
Beth, the picture of Jen is so beautiful, can't wait to see the rest. Wanted to thank you for being so wonderful, I'm so thankful we had you to do our pictures. Thanks, Lana
I shot a wedding in Lewes for Lindsey & Jeff... fun loving, beachy Jeep people after my own heart. With all the formal settings I work in, you can just imagine how thrilled I was to head to the four wheel drive beach to take fun pictures of Jeff, Lindsey and one of their favorite pastimes, their Jeep. Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day guys! Hope you & your families are enjoying your albums!
Casey & Ray
I headed south to the shore this weekend for the intimate wedding of Casey & Ray. The park was gorgeous, the bride was just stunning, the weather....well, lets just say that the weather wasn't exactly what Casey had planned. It was about 100 degrees in the shade and about as humid as a Delaware beach day can be ~ we were in the midst of our first official "heat wave" of the season. Through it all, Casey & Ray never lost their sense of humor or the sparkle in their eyes, and after a stiffling photo shoot at the Zwanendaal park, we headed to Salero on the top of the Henlopen Hotel, where we were all grateful for not only amazing panoramic ocean views (ocean as far as the eye can see!) , but also the impecable service & the cool air conditioning. Casey & Ray smiled & danced all night, enjoyed their guests & are off to Paris as I type this. Have fun guys - your proof book will be here waiting for you upon your return!
Kelly & Brian were such a fun couple...
...very relaxed, happy people, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy their wedding day. I very much enjoyed being a part of their special day and getting to know their families, particularly Kelly's mom, who is just the nicest lady.
Here is a page that I actually created for my own studio sample, but when Kelly saw it she loved it so much she asked me to duplicate it in *her* own panoramic album. Enjoy Kelly & Brian!
How do you get the BEST wedding pictures?? Don't forget to...
Ok, so you have been planning your dream wedding for months, you have spent countless hours worrying about every little detail, you have lost sleep wondering if the pink of your flowers is going to perfectly match the pink in your bridesmaids dresses...and that's natural, planning a wedding is a LOT of hard work!
Many brides ask me what they can do help me get the best pictures of them possible. The answer is very simple...relax & enjoy all of your hard work! Do your research, hire professional vendors that you trust, and then let them do their thing while you blissfully enjoy your day.
I shoot so many weddings, and from a photographers point of view, the more fun you have on your wedding day, the better you are going to like your pictures. Natural smiles are so important, your body language is so important. If you are uptight and stressed, even the very best photographer can't make you look like you are relaxed & happy. Remember that your pictures will be a natural extension of your wedding day.
So spend the months before the wedding worrying about every little thing, but on the day of the wedding, give yourself the luxury of waking up knowing that you have hired experienced wedding professionals that you can trust to make sure your wedding day goes smoothly.
Smile, dance, have extra long conversations with your loved ones, hug everyone...and don't worry...I will capture it all.
Happy Planning!
Huge thanks to Delaware Beach Weddings!!!
I was thrilled to have one of my pictures chosen for the cover of "Delaware Beach Weddings", a wonderful publication widely distributed in Sussex county by Nancy Joseph of Best Places in Town. You can pick your copy up at the Rehoboth Chamber of Commerce (which by the way is a GREAT place to get wedding vendor information!) or at any one of hundreds of stores/restaurants/hotels/spas in the Delaware beach area. You can also view a previous edition by following this link. http://www.delawarebeachweddings.com/
Delaware Beach Weddings sponsored a Dream Wedding for Traci Strawbridge & Richard Overstreet. Through the generosity & giving spirit of many local vendors (and Nancy, who I believe was the brains behind the idea!) Traci & Richard had the beach wedding of their dreams. I was happy to donate services in the form of a "Trash The Dress" session, after the wedding of course. The lucky couple was married last month...and I am really looking forward to their session with me. I hear they are a great, fun couple. Pictures to follow of course.
Lisa & Chuck!!
Lisa & Chuck were married on April 19th at the Potnets Seaside Pavillion. It was a gorgeous April day...just a slight chill in the air and a nice waterside breeze (ok, it was downright windy, but what do you expect for April at the beach?). As Lisa & Chuck were saying their "I Do's" the breeze blew, beautiul music graced our ears and some guy on a jet ski rode by and yelled "DON'T DO IT!!!!". Lisa, Chuck and all of their guests enjoyed a good laugh, and a great story was born.
At the reception, Lisa (who is from PA and is a diehard Steelers fan) donned a football jersey and danced to the Steelers fight song, "Here We Go". Not being a football fan I had never heard the song before, but it was catchy and proved to be one of those songs that sticks in your head for days. Thanks Lisa. ;)
Thanks for letting me shoot your wedding Lisa, Chuck and of course, "little man". I really enjoyed our day together and will be chatting with you soon as we start to design your album!
Thanks to Carrie & Eddie...
On April 26th I had the honor of shooting Carrie & Eddies wedding in the beautiful Asbury Church. Carrie was *such* a gorgeous bride, and had the voice of an angel as she sung a heartfelt song to her groom during the ceremony. Once again, the extended forecast called for rain, and although it did end up raining, Mother Nature thankfully waited until after the ceremony & after we took gorgeous bridal portraits in a local park.
I just loved both Carrie & Eddie and their families as well. Thanks guys! Your proof album will be in very soon.
Hi Beth! I LOVE the picture :) My mom was extremely impressed by your creativity (as were we) and has already referred you to a friend! It was an honor to have you shoot our wedding - I think you did an outstanding job! Thank you so much for playing such an important part in our wedding. I will refer you to everyone I can!
Thanks for the referral Carrie! You guys were a blast to work with & it really shows in your pictures. Your proofs will be in this week, I will call you as soon as they get here! Beth
Gotta blog, they tell me...
So this weekend I was lucky enough to work with a gorgeous couple - in a gorgeous location - on a gorgeous day. It just doesn't get much better then that. Jamie & Doug were lovely to work with and the Messick & Willey families were warm & fun loving people. The forecast all week called for showers, but the day ended up being a crystal clear perfect day...the kind of day you dream about when you plan an outdoor May wedding. As bridal pictures were a top priority for Jamie, she allotted lots of extra time for her pictures, and it really shows. We had enough time to casually stroll through the vineyards at Pizzadili and take bridal portraits at the many gorgeous scenes that Pizzadili has to offer. I have other weddings scheduled for the Pizzadili Vineyards this summer and I am just thrilled. Nice place, nice people and outstanding food.
Mike Warren of Just Kidding Around headed up the evenings entertainment, so naturally the wedding guests enjoyed a super fun night of dancing & laughing.
Thanks to Jamie & Doug for allowing me to shoot their special day.
You were a pleasure to work with and I certainly would recommend you to all other brides! Thank you for putting up with our families that day. Can't wait to see all of the photos! Thank you again for everything....Jamie & Doug Willey
